OUR FOUNDERS

Shaina Yu

For the majority of her working career, Shaina Yu has been working with globally renowned multi-national companies such as BMW Group, Daimler Southeast Asia and Stuttgart Auto. When her husband was posted to Jakarta in 2017, Shaina followed suit with her 6-month-old infant in tow. As with most new parents, Shaina’s wish was for her own child to develop and grow at his own pace, but most importantly, develop into a child brimming with positivity and empathy for others. Upon returning home to Singapore, Shaina decided to tangibilize her beliefs with the setting up of Brave Feats.

Shaina Yu holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and Finance from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and is a certified Gallup StrengthsFinder® coach and Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) Assistant for ages 6 – 12 from Maria Montessori Institute, London, UK.

OUR VISION

Brave Feats Student Care was created to provide a positive and inspiring space for our young ones to come home to after school hours.

We believe that every child deserves to be joyful. We empower children to grow and flourish, with a positive sense of self and a committed purpose to impact the community.

OUR MISSION

Brave Feats Student Care was started in 2019 in Bedok as Hopscotch Student Care. We have chosen to reside as resident partner at Common Ground, to work collaboratively with other social businesses to address complex social issues.

The complexity of education in Singapore is often felt and experienced by children, parents and educators with much anxiety. We believe that through a child-centric after-school programme, focusing on confidence building and joyful learning, we can impact the lives of our children. We actively engage our parents and community to see possibilities and shift mindsets while providing thought leadership in nurturing flourishing children.
